About Dry Creek Lavender Farm

Three years ago, we had a hillside full of weeds. Too steep to mow, we knew we couldn't plant grass on the hill. So we started looking for the perfect plant that we could grow that would require minimal maintenance, thrive on a rocky, north facing hill, and be pleasant to look at. While hiking the Cotswalds, we saw a lavender farm and fell in love with the look of it. After doing some research we knew we had found our answer. Our backyard now has over 1,000 lavender plants comprised of seven varieties. With our own beehive to pollinate the flowers, we love sitting and relaxing while we view the colors of the hillside, smell the aroma of the lavender, and listen to the buzz of the honeybees.

MEET JACKIE AND DALE

Jackie
Dale
Hello, I am Jackie, the idea person of this side-hustle called Dry Creek Lavender Farm.  At this time, Dale and I are just getting our feet wet in the lavender production business.  It all started with our concern about the loss of honey bees, and has grown from there.  When we built this house, we wondered, “What can we plant on this big hill?”  Lavender was the perfect solution as it requires very little attention, is drought resistant, and you can grow it in lousy soil.  Perfect for us!  Lavender in return gives back beautiful views, smells, products, and it helps the bees!  100% of our bees recommend it!

If Jackie is the brains of this side-hustle, Dale is the manual labor that brings her ideas to fruition. Dale will be the first to tell you that he doesn’t have a green thumb. In fact, it is rare that he is allowed to pull weeds unsupervised. But he does enjoy working the hillside of lavender, enjoying the sights and smells, and stopping to watch the honeybees and bumblebees do their thing.
